Orthodontic Mini Screws

They can be called micro-screws, mini-implants or temporary anchorage devices (TADs). It is a strong orthodontic tool which includes a small metal screw that is inserted through the gum into the jaw bone after numbing the gum. Mini Screws are used in conjunction with orthodontic braces to act as anchor to move the teeth effectively and to straighten the teeth and close gaps between teeth. They are one of the most acceptable alternative to head gear that require no compliance from the patients. Mini Screws are prescribed for both adults and children.
