How cosmetic tooth straightening works
As you know, cosmetic dentistry focuses on the aesthetics of the smile. This type of dentistry, combined with teeth straightening, ensures that the front six to eight teeth are perfectly aligned and positioned.
Cosmetic braces are designed to fix the everyday smile problems that patients hate, like uneven, crooked, and overcrowded teeth.
Plus, they’re recommended when patients want a faster fix to their smile problems – and thankfully, with cosmetic braces, some straightening devices only take three months.
When considering the cost of private cosmetic teeth straightening to traditional devices, it can, in many instances, be much cheaper.
As only the front teeth are realigned, the costs are less than initially seen with traditional orthodontic treatment.
However, to get an accurate quote of how much your new smile could cost, get in touch with us below, and we’ll connect you to one of our trained orthodontists, who can assess your condition and provide an accurate price.

Invisalign – is it really that discreet?
- Precise smile mapping with the iTero scanner.
- Preview and design your smile during your consultation.
As Invisalign is a viral straightening system, especially amongst adults, patients are sold on the treatment before understanding if it’s right for them.
The biggest sell with Invisalign is that it’s removable and invisible. But, whilst you can remove the system to eat, drink and engage in certain activities, you’ll have to wear it for a minimum of 22 hours per day. That’s only two hours of non-wearing time throughout the day – consequently, if you don’t wear your aligners for the allotted time, your treatment won’t go as planned.
Moreover, whilst Invisalign is a discreet straightening system, it won’t be completely invisible. The clear aligners are made from a thin, transparent plastic material, which looks better than other clear aligner alternatives but is not perfect. And as dentists, who straighten hundreds of smiles every year – even with Invisalign, we always feel it’s best to let patients know what to expect so that they do not waste their time.
Comprehensive Treatment Planning is Critically Important
- Computer modelling and smile simulations to design your dream smile.
- Braces installation requires a wire that gently moves teeth into their pre-determined positions.
Before Invisalign became a household name, the Perfect Smile Studios had straightened thousands of patients’ smiles with one innovative system called Lingual Braces.
The benefit of Lingual Braces is that they sit on the back of your teeth rather than the front, so you can smile confidently and keep your treatment more secret.
As a fixed teeth straightening device, Lingual Braces have the power to straighten teeth more effectively and are just as strong as traditional braces. In many instances, we’ve seen Lingual Braces more effective than Invisalign. Plus, as they sit behind the teeth, they are the most discreet orthodontic appliance.
What are the alternatives to tooth straightening?
Whilst dental veneers are often referred to as instant orthodontics, patients should realise that they’re not a replacement for orthodontics but rather a mask to hide and conceal bad teeth.
However, dental veneers are typically prescribed to patients looking for an alternative to using teeth straightening systems, even if they are invisible. For example, patients who want to close gaps and reshape their teeth can do so much more easily with porcelain or composite veneers.
The veneer process is relatively straightforward – with porcelain, the tiniest amount of preparation is made to make room (often only the size of 0.5mm) to place your new tooth.
Composite veneers require zero preparation as the composite resin material is applied directly to the tooth in layers (in most cases, indirect composite veneers can be pre-made in a lab and then placed).
