After dental implant surgery
It is important to note that you may experience some swelling or discomfort after the treatment.
Implant surgery is an invasive treatment and, like most other surgeries, can take a few days to heal.
We can help you with anti-inflammatory painkillers. Having said this, when we check on our patients the next day, most of our patients are happy and do not suffer from any symptoms.
You will have our contact number if you need to speak to the implant dentist at any time.
We can reassure you that we will take care of you at all times.
Dental anxiety and implants
Our care team is highly experienced and understanding:
They know how the thought of having pain may stimulate anxiety, and so they take prudent measures with every person to ensure that they are correctly looked after with no discomfort.
We are very experienced in dental phobia and helping to alleviate anxiety towards dental treatment.
Toalleviate anxieties, we provide our patients with total control. We take the time to explain in detail the entire procedure. Our patients have found this approach very useful and have helped them cope with the “idea” of pain.
Step 1: We will start the process with a highly detailed and thorough comprehensive examination and assessment. We will then construct a customised treatment plan and design your implant treatment.
Step 2: Your new implant(s) will be surgically placed in your mouth.
Step 3: We will assess your healing on this review appointment and make sure everything is going as planned.
Step 4: Records and impressions will be taken to construct the implant’s top part (post and crown).
Step 5: We will fit the final part of the implant (post and crown).
Step 6: This appointment allows you to have any further refining cosmetic enhancements or minor adjustments.
When a tooth is removed from the mouth, the surrounding bone that holds the tooth in place will diminish in height and width and volume. This may affect the immediate and final appearance of the gum tissue in this area and possibly the surrounding teeth.
The larger the width of bone or the height of the bone, the broader and longer implant can be. A broader and longer implant increases implant stability and thus success. We assess the bone height and width by taking digital radiographs or by taking a CT Scan. More.
