All-on-4 Process

While the procedure might sound scary, it couldn’t be more straightforward.

The fast-track to replace a full mouth of missing teeth

The All-on-4 procedure is a revolutionary technique to anchor a full arch of artificial teeth using just four implants to replace up to 14 teeth. When you opt for All-on-4 dental implants, you can avoid common pre-prosthetic procedures like bone grafts and sinus lifts, as the implants are placed in areas of the jawbone, which naturally have better density and strength. Because of this innovative approach, patients can enjoy a more straightforward process, which reduces the number of surgeries and procedures they would usually need to make dental implants possible.

All on 4 procedure FAQs

What is the All-on-4 procedure?

The All-on-Four procedure is a total restoration of the upper and/or lower arches using custom dental implants that attach to a hybrid bridge.

The end result of the procedure sees a full set of permanent teeth being fixed that look and feel almost identical to a natural set of teeth.

Who is the procedure suitable for?

While there’s rarely a type of patient who’s not suitable for this procedure. All-on-4 is typically recommended in cases where patients:

  • Want to prevent bone loss
  • Are limited to eating a certain set of foods
  • Have speech issues because of dentures
  • Need a fixed alternative to loose/uncomfortable dentures
  • Have a failing dental bridge, or heavily decayed, comprised teeth
  • Have multiple missing teeth in either the upper or lower arches
How does the prosthetic work?

Just like conventional implants, All-on-4 uses small titanium screws that are embedded into the jaw and act like the root of a tooth. This artificial tooth root then acts as an anchor to fix a restoration like a bridge, denture or crown. The science behind dental implants is incredible. Because they are biocompatible, they bond to bone just like natural teeth would, which makes them a permanent, lifelong solution to tooth loss. And truthfully, All-on-4 will be your best full arch replacement option compared to alternatives.

Procedure Step-By-Step

Recovery and healing

The healing process for All-on-4 begins immediately after surgery. While recovery times tend to differ from patient to patient, you should feel back to your old self within a week, with most discomfort wearing off 48 hours following surgery. We typically recommend you take two days off work.

The incision sites might heal within a few weeks, but we’ll have to wait a few months for the bone to fuse with the implant and go through a healing period referred to as osseointegration. After this period, we’ll invite you back in to load your permanent prosthetic.
