Invisalign Lite Vs Invisalign Full: Time, Cost, Process

Invisalign Lite Vs Invisalign Full – What’s the Difference?

Crooked, gapped or wonky teeth? Overbite or underbite? Invisalign will be a great system for straightening your teeth.

However, the type and version of Invisalign you’ll require will depend entirely on the severity of your bite problem or malocclusion.

For example, several types of Invisalign products, each targeted to treat a bite irregularity within a certain time frame, using a certain number of aligners. And the more extensive version of Invisalign you use, the longer you’ll have to wear the aligners and the more costly it will be to correct.

The main differences between Invisalign Lite and Full

When comparing Invisalign Lite and full, the main difference is mostly in what each version treats. While Invisalign Lite is cheaper and faster, it’s only because it’s designed for mild orthodontic issues.

As the system uses fewer aligners (between 10 and 15), it will only take 2-6 months to work, whereas Invisalign Full is designed for bite abnormalities, which take longer to correct. Remember, the more mild your problem, the faster and inexpensive your treatment will be.

It’s not a question of which one is the best out of the two; they’re both exactly the same, it’s just one version you wear for longer.

Invisalign Lite

  • Treatment time between 2 and 6 months
  • Costs from £1,500 (available on 0% finance)
  • Designed for: Minor orthodontic issues

What Invisalign Lite treats

Invisalign Lite is one of the fastest versions of Invisalign, but that’s not because it has extra powers or features that the Full version doesn’t have.

Invisalign Lite is only faster because it’s used on mild orthodontic cases, making it unsuitable for patients with overbites.

Invisalign Lite, however, is better for Class I malocclusions, which means that the molar position or bite is normal, but other teeth are slightly misaligned in some way, whether mild overlapping or overcrowding.

Invisalign Lite can also be used for badly positioned teeth, poor alignment or tiny gaps.

What Invisalign Comprehensive treats

Invisalign Full or Comprehensive straightens both upper and lower jaws using an unlimited amount of aligners, as each case is unique, and the number can differ from case to case.

Invisalign Comrephensive is recommended in Class II malocclusion cases, where the upper molars are defined as being too far forward compared to lower molars, as seen in overbites.

Invisalign Comprehensive can also treat larger gaps between teeth, more extensive crowding, crookedness, underbites, crossbites, and open bites.

Considering which system to choose?

Patients won’t really get to choose the Invisalign system. That’s because a reputable Invisalign dentist will not recommend a treatment that won’t produce the desired end results.

The fact is, Invisalign Lite is not going to be the right system for you if you don’t meet certain criteria. We’ll only know which system you qualify for during a free consultation, during which we’ll assess your bite and misalignment and then recommend the treatment that will match your expectations.
