Vital tooth extraction in Hertford

We rarely recommend tooth extraction, but it might be unavoidable in cases of severe tooth decay, gum disease, heavily impacted teeth, and overcrowding.

Do you really need a tooth extraction?

  1. Toothache that won’t go away even though you’ve had a root canal?
  2. Tooth badly damaged from decay and unable to be treated with a crown, inlay, onlay or dental filling?
  3. Gum disease making your teeth come loose and wobble?
  4. Not enough room for wisdom tooth coming through causing you unbearable pain?
  5. Having too many teeth in your mouth impacts your smile from being straight.

Now is the time to book a check-up. Our comprehensive exams start from £65.

*If you’ve been told you need a tooth extraction or want to go ahead and book one for £150, get in touch with us here.

Is there anything we can do to avoid tooth extraction?

We get it – having a tooth removed is not something you can get excited about. But you should trust that it’s your last resort if one of our dentists has recommended a tooth extraction.

If you’re a nervous patient, here’s some information that might help to ease your mind if you’re concerned about an upcoming tooth extraction.

Tooth extraction alternatives

  1. Root canals can help you avoid a tooth extraction as they treat the infection at the root to relieve patients of tooth pain. Root canals cost £520.
  2. Apicoectomy might also be a solution to removing damaged tissues. Speak to our endodontist about it.

“I’ve had problems with my teeth for years and hated the gaps I had from teeth extractions. The best thing I ever did was to visit The Perfect Smile in Hertford, where I met Gurs and his lovely assistant Kristina. They allayed my concerns and talked me through the whole process. The result is amazing. I can smile now without embarrassment. I cannot recommend this practice highly enough. A truly wonderful experience, and I thank all concerned.”

Replacing a tooth after tooth extraction

You don’t have to replace a tooth after it has been pulled, but not replacing it could cause oral health problems. For example, the bone in the jaw depletes, and facial muscles sag and neighbouring; otherwise, healthy teeth can come loose, wobble, and fall out.

There are a few simple options to replace missing teeth, varying in price and superiority.

  1. Dental bridges are cheaper and tend to strain existing teeth, causing decay. Costs from £1,200.
  2. Dentures are the cheapest, but you’ll know all about the downsides already. Costs from £750.
  3. Dental implants are the best in terms of function and natural appearance. Costs from £2,550.

As a nervous dental patient who has spent many years avoiding attending a dental practice my experience at Perfect Smile Hertford has been nothing but great so far, so thank you, and to Jenny Cader for the referral. All of the staff have been friendly, attentive and professional. They've listened and advised accordingly, and haven't tried to upsell me, merely to advise based on my circumstances and requirements. I'm back in for some minor remedial work and whitening, and for the first time ever, I don't feel afraid of the dentist!

I had my composite bonding done by Sagar Shah, he done an amazing job! Although it’s a small change made to my teeth it’s made the world of difference with my confidence, before I never smiled with my teeth showing but all I do is smile with them now. The whole team at perfect smile makes your feel comfortable from the get go and are always very helpful. I recommended my brother to perfect smile and he couldn’t be happier either. It’s been a year and Sagar is still the most helpful dentist when I have any questions.
