I bet you’re wondering what Invisalign Lite is. Well, if you’re familiar with Invisalign, then there’s nothing different to the Lite version of the system. They use the same invisible, removable aligners and require the same daily wear time (22 hours).
Invisalign has different versions within its portfolio to treat different bite and misalignment problems within certain timeframes.
Invisalign Lite is one of the quickest, but that doesn’t mean you can opt for it just because you want straighter teeth faster.
Invisalign Lite can straighten teeth in between 3 and 6 months, but it’s only suitable for patients with “minor to moderate” orthodontic issues, such as small gaps between teeth, slight overcrowding, and minor misalignment and crowding.

Invisalign Lite Clinical Scope
You won’t be a suitable candidate for Invisalign Lite if you require correction for class II malocclusions like overbites or underbites. Invisalign Lite deals with mild orthodontic problems and moderate corrections like slight crooked and crowded teeth.
Patients with more complex issues requiring more difficult adjustments are likely not suitable for the treatment but might need to explore Invisalign Moderate or Invisalign Comprehensive.
Invisalign Lite is effective for:
- Smalls gaps between teeth, or diastema
- Minor overcrowding and crooked front teeth
- Slight misalignment between the upper and lower teeth
- Badly positioned teeth in the wrong position

Invisalign Lite Cost
The cost of Invisalign Lite will typically vary from practice to practice around the UK. The exact quote will also depend on the total number of aligners used (and the length of your treatment) to straighten your smile. That said, at our clinic in Hertfordshire, you can expect the treatment cost for Invisalign Lite to begin from £1,500, or £62.50 per month using 0% finance over 24 months.

Invisalign Lite vs Full
When comparing the two systems, keep in mind that Invisalign Lite and Invisalign Full use the same aligners. The main difference between them is that Invisalign Lite uses up to 15 aligners, whereas Invisalign Comprehensive (or Full) uses an unlimited amount (as many as it takes to realign your smile).
Invisalign Full will straighten both upper and lower arches, and target more severe bite problems like underbites and overbites, whereas Invisalign Lite can only treat mild issues. Read more.
Benefits of Invisalign Lite
- Unnoticeable: Like Invisalign’s original system, the Lite version uses the same invisible plastic aligners that move gently into their correct position. The aligners themself are thin and smooth and very difficult to notice.
- Faster: Invisalign Lite is faster than most versions of Invisalign because it treats minor misaligned teeth rather than severe cases, using only ten and fifteen aligners over 3-6 months.
- Comfortable: Invisalign Lite’s aligners are made from a smooth and comfortable patented fabric that allows for gradual movement with the least amount of discomfort.
